C. Leonard Leese (1895-?1968) was the author of numerous books on global politics and foreign policy. For example, he translated from the French a book on “Oil: its influence on politics” in 1920, and in 1919 he co-authored a book on “Balkan Problems and European Peace”. He served on the War and Social Order Committee during the period of the Foundations, and signed the letter from WSOC to London & Middlesex QM in October 1918 on the Committee’s desire to engage with – and, by implication, to challenge – “Friends engaged in commerce and finance who form so large a proportion of London and Middlesex QM”.
